Palace of the Damned is the third installment in The Saga of Larten Crepsley, the prequel series to The Saga of Darren Shan, written by Irish author Darren Shan.
The book was released in Ireland and the UK on the 11th of October, 2011.The novel is told in present tense third person about Larten Crepsley, a vampire, as he survives Greenland, and attempts to live in Paris as a human. He falls in love, gets a job, and looks after the baby he has carried since the events at the end of Ocean of Blood, revealed to be Gavner Purl.
Palace of the Damned has received positive reviews from critics and readers, many saying that Shan is consistant, and continues to deliver. Some critics were unfavorable towards Ocean of Blood, but admitted to enjoying this book far more. Many stated that this book's predecessor was very slow moving or dull, but believe the series has been renewed[1].
